Life is GOOD

I feel very upbeat this morning thanks for 10 hrs in bed and 9 hrs of solid sleep. I feel 80% recovered now! 😀

I woke up an hour later than usual but still had 30 min of quiet time before the girls got up. I loved chatting with the girls during breakfast time, kissing Lizzy’s cheek copiously because she kept cleaning the spot with tissue. so funny! the benefit of not running in the morning is to start the day slowly with the girls.

after they left for school, I went to the pool. I don’t even remember when was the last time I went. I don’t want to run yet, partly to rest my legs, partly because it was too late to run outdoor and i hate TM. I planned to swim for 20 min to clear my mind, but ended up swimming for 45 min. I realized that I love “observing” where my mind goes in movement. It’s like active meditation practice.

I felt great after the swim. I think I should do it as cross training going forward.

Another good news to boost my spirit is to know that our favorite singer (me and hubby) is doing his 60th years old world tour in Shanghai in March. We are definitely going to see him while also visiting family as we have a school break in March. EXCITED!

The hike is taking over our office chatting topic. Everyone knows that we are going (3 of us who are good friends in the office). Most people are worried about the other two as they are less active than I am, but I assured them that this will be “life changing experience”. Rinjani in case you are curious which volcano we will hike. My last hike was 2011, Kilimanjaro. it was truly life changing experience, so hard and so long but soooo amazing! We joke that this hike will be either bounding us more or break our friendship for good. 🙂 hope it’s the former.

  1. It sounds amazing to have such a great fitness center/pool right in your building!

So glad you’re feeling positive and that your body is recovering from the jet lag and intense physical exertion!

  2. I’m envious of all of the sleep you are getting! We are all kind of behind sleep in our house w/ the kids being sick and our early risers. I’m hoping the boys sleep in a bit this weekend – like 6:30-6:45 would be great.

I hope your hike goes well! Can’t wait to hear about it and see pictures!

  3. I used to swim with Asher often but haven’t been swimming now in AGES. I like the idea of it but also feel like it’s a big production to get all wet, cold, etc. Haha. I also feel like it takes a longer time due to having to change into suit, etc. But maybe eventually when I have more free time again or when the boys are away I can re-implement swimming as it is a fun way to do cardio and cross training for sure!
