Weekend of celebrations

We had a less typical weekend as we had two celebrations. The first one was Saturday evening, dinner at one of my colleague’s house, holiday dinner before everyone goes off for the holidays. The host is from Lebanon so they serve all homemade Lebanese food. It was a big feast, centered around meat, spreads, pita bread, and little veggies. So I enjoyed the company and chatting more than the food.

I was happy to attend the dinner although I had to switch my long run to Saturday which went great. I got home 11pm, way past my bed time and felt off the next day, but I was still glad I went.

Sunday started with a run with Sofia, as I had only 50 min easy jog, so I asked her to join me. She did 3 miles and walked the rest. I really love jogging with her. If not because she swims so much, I would encourage her to run more.

When we got home, daddy opened the gifts and tried the fancy puff I got him as part of the gift. It’s called chou here, which I just learned last week, filled with special creams. A true indulgence.

then I tried to take a nap in the morning but couldn’t. Then we went out for lunch to celebrate daddy’s birthday. We ordered few to share: smoked duck salad

carnivore pizza

australian prime steak, highlight of the restaurant

grilled octopus, my must-order dish whenever available

kids burger

and then the restaurant brought birthday cake together with birthday song 🙂

We all left full and sugar loaded

I tried to nap again and still couldn’t. So I went to the gym as I only did lifting once this week. I did lower body followed by core for runners. Girls came when I was finishing and tried few things

they had fun “working” out

We still had some time before dinner and movie, so I suggested the girls to do a facial mask. Sofia did all herself… looks very funny and pro.

It was a great weekend, physically not my best due to off schedule on Saturday, but enjoyable nevertheless.

Q: Do you have a favorite activity to do with your kids? What was the highlight of your weekend?

  1. Sofia looks so grown-up in the mask photo! Too cute! Your weekend of celebrations sounded fun. The food looks so good! The kids burger is really cute!

With Paul, my favorite things to do are play cards (he’s very into a card game called garbage) or read books. With Will, it’s read books. I also like being outside with them like taking talks or going to the park.
