5 on Friday

1. This week is flying by as I am quite busy at work. I am glad that I started the week “slow” with 45 min yoga in our gym yoga room. It felt like a real yoga class, luxurious to be doing it on Monday 7:30am. I want to start the week/day not rushed, doing things that feel unusual, relaxed, made it feel slow. One insight I learned from this book that I finished in few days.

2. Chasing the blue sky seems to be the norm here. On Tuesday, I started my run on the TM. When the blue sky appeared I rushed out and felt so much gratitude to be outdoor with other runners.

3. Girls started school and very happy to be back to their usual routine. We end our day with 30 min of reading together after dinner and before bed. Sometimes with homemade jelly too.

4. I did a lot of reading at work. While getting back to daily reading (for leisure) helped me to focus reading at work and absorbing the information, I feel I don’t want more reading for pleasure when I get home. I need other form to unwind, still not sure what.

5. My favorite colleague friend is leaving Jakarta on February 1. I started the “grieving” process. 😦 He is one of my favorite people in my organization, in the last 12 years. I know we will keep in touch, but it won’t be the same as sharing a walk to office, corridor jokes, and working together. I helped him to pick housing in dc, and suddenly it felt real. Sobbbb….

  1. I love starting my day with yoga! It looks like you got clean air this time, I hope? Is your husband feeling better? How about your daughter?

I’m sorry that your work friend is moving. That is hard. These friendships make work much more pleasurable. Perhaps you will work in an office together again someday.

  2. I adore a busy work week. The work days just go by so fast. This week has been crazy leading to a big virtual thing today (it was supposed to be F2F, but we have A LOT of snow). So today all the virtual things are happening, but because we’ve planned things so well, I’m just sitting back waiting for questions that aren’t coming!

Starting the week with a long yoga session is PERFECT. I’m so envious!

  3. It’s so hard to say goodbye to a dear work friend. I went through that in the spring although he was retiring and didn’t move so I still see him fairly often and I text him quite a bit since he understands what my job is like and the things I go through.

Starting a day with yoga sounds like such a gentle start to the day.

  4. Aw… that is sad about your friend. It’s hard to see someone like that go!
My job is completely different than yours, but I agree with Engie that a busy day just flies by, and I like it. Sometimes when I get there in the morning and see the entire day booked with clients, my heart sinks… but then before I know it, the day is over.
It’s been a long time since I started the day with yoga, but I agree, it is a really nice way to ease into the week.
