Non-productive weekend

I had ideas to do things this weekend like starting to lay out photo gallery for our living room, go to wall climbing, go to buy a hanger. Yet, I did none of these and enjoyed the absolutely unproductive weekend, to the extend that I thought, am I cured? is my always productive and efficient self finally got cured? I hope this new relaxing me vibe passes on to the girls to save them decades of trying-to-be-productive inner conflict.

What did we do this weekend? Well… a lot of Bubble time. she melts our heart. and especially me. I think we have a special bound. She likes me. She even follows me to bathroom (danger place for cats).

Lizzy went to school BBQ with daddy on Saturday while Sofia and I stayed home, meal prepping including a yummy batch of peanut butter oatmeal cookies

This is Lizzy’s identify?

Bubble comes to me when I lay down to read a book. She even did the kneading on me once!!!

isn’t she the cutest?

due to Cookie’s unfriendliness, Bubble has been mostly in two rooms but this Sunday she came out by herself, explore the house, and even wanted to play with Cookie. She’s definitely not afraid of Cookie, rather Cookie afraid of her. Daddy and I said: we love Bubble’s personality, easy going, curious, friendly, loves to play and eat. oh gosh… she eats so much more! Every time we put food on her plate, she’d finish it to the last bits. Unlike Cookie who snacks a bit and leave plenty of food behind.

we did go out for sunset walks. Saturday around the neighbourhood, Sunday to the near park.

Lizzy and I also watched 3 episodes of Departure, soooo addicting! She kept saying this is such a good show! I am surprised how much this adult series she likes. It was a great shared experience.

What else did I do?

  • I mea. prep a lentil vegetable soup for my weekly lunches
  • I cleaned and cut some non-leafy vegetables
  • I prep potatoes and sweet potatoes
  • I watched the materialist
  • I started a new book
  • I took naps both days
  • I did laundry. I enjoyed doing it as it felt slowing down.
  • I finished my first double digit run since knee injury. 10 miles easy that felt amazing.
  • I also did 45 min yoga on Sunday after biking with Sofia, feeling grounded and grateful.

  1. Sometimes the best weekends are the “unproductive” ones where you just vibe with a cat, binge-watch shows, and actually enjoy the little things like laundry and meal prep.

Congrats on your 10-mile run! Glad that it felt amazing. That’s a good sign!

  2. This sounds like a lovely weekend.

I need a mix of “productive” and “unproductive” time. Down time without high structure helps me recuperate enough to be productive again.

Bubble really IS the cutest. She’s adorable and I’m so glad she’s bonded with you so quickly.

  3. I don’t know… your weekend sounds productive to me! Maybe not as much as you’re used to, but you did a lot of meal prep, laundry, ran, did yoga, spent time with the kids… sounds pretty great! And, if I had Bubble I would never want to leave the house. She is insanely cute!!!
