This week went by quickly and I am excited by the weekend.
- I am preparing few things ahead of Sunday hosting chines food this morning. Kimchi, radish pickle and some soup for me and husband for few days.

I had my first sourdough fail this week as the starter was not fully live before I started making the dough and I used the bread machine and overnight fridge rise in the fridge. Unfortunately the dough didn’t rise. I rescued the second one by letting is rise more the second day, and this morning it looks better. Half rescued. Lesson learned: do not attempt short cut when making sourdough.

2. The menu is set! This is the first time I am making chinese food when hosting. Many ingredients are not common here so I am quite limited with what I can make. BUT I am happy that my 10 dishes menu is shaping up nicely.
3. Gift buying and wrapping is also in full force. I have 1 work trip next week and then another one the week before so I am hoping to finish gift buying ASAP. They are mostly not useful thing, toys and fun things. I am indulging the girls for this time of the year.
4. I am happy to report that either the HRT, the supplements, or the strengthen sessions, are paying off regarding my knees. They are mostly fine, and require less time to warm up. YAY!
5. I’ve decided to skip office party which is tonight 8pm to midnight. I know… I may be perceived as not fun. But honestly for a party of over 100 people, I will not be missed by anyone 🙂 I would rather sleep early and have a great long run tomorrow.
What about you? Do you feel bad skipping parties to sleep early? Do you have your signature dish?
I’m usually asleep by 8:30 so I wouldn’t be great at that party! I think with so many people you will (hopefully?) not be missed!
This was a fun post! I am so glad the HRT is working for you!

You probably will be missed but I would do the same!
A run over a 100+ office party any day!

I shy, I always end up being almost the last if not the last to leave…which the next morning is not my friend, and those I left with are there too, so we all feel the same pain…roasted veggies…

That is a late party! I would only be able to make an appearance. We had our holiday party last week. It started at 3 and I got there at 4. Most had cleared out by 5:30! We are not a group of party animals. Ha.

I would MUCH rather go to bed early and have a great long run than go to a party with 100 people. I agree- with that many people, you’re not obligated to attend.
I’m so glad your knees are feeling good! And, I’m looking forward to hearing all about your dinner party.

We went to my husband’s company party last Friday. We stayed for an hour and then left. I doubt anyone missed us!
