Start of the camps.

Sunday we dropped Sofia at her camp with uber instead of rental car as they didn’t accept debit card and I failed to bring any physical card. 1 hr wasted at the counter but fortunately uber didn’t cost more than rental car.

We did the check in with Sofia and visited her dorm. She unpacked herself quickly while her roommates’ parent did all the unpacking bringing double what Sofia brought. Interesting no?!

Then we had lunch at their cafeteria and said bye to Sofia. She was excited and a bit concerned with what would be her life alone with no one she knows. But I was confident she will adjust quickly.

Lizzy and I got home and I suddenly felt exhausted. After dinner we took a short walk and I went to bed 8pm and probably asleep by 9pm, slowly adjusting to Brasilia schedule.

Monday we walked to lizzy’s camp which is 30 min away from where we live and 3 blocks away from my office. So convenient.

I picked her up at 3pm after having lunch with a friend and coffee with another colleague that came from Uzbekistan.

Lizzy seemed ok despite not having any other girl in her group. She made a friend called victor that is funny, a key quality for friendship for Lizzy.

Then we went to do some more cloth shopping and got back home 5pm.

I still haven’t talked to Sofia as her schedule is packed. In one day she already did a presentation, an event and a research project. She asked me look at her notes (we share Apple account) and this is what I found. OMG! So cool that she’s learning my thing!

Today I found out my old boss and mentor will be in dc next week. He’s very senior so I wasn’t sure he will find time to see me, but he said of course he will always make time for me. I’m super excited to meet him next week. He changed me professionally! I wouldn’t be where I am if not because of his mentorship and trust.

Fun time!
