Sometimes I wonder how others with kids do several things a day. We are one event per day type of family at the moment and enjoying the slowness of every day. My ideal day would not start until 10 or 11am to think about what to do, after I had my slow morning routine, a slow and long run, and slow and long breakfast. Then maybe by 10:30am Lizzy and I would discuss plan for the day, or what’s The event of the day. It’s so easy to agree when it’s just two of us and Lizzy is an easy girl.
Friday after camp we went to visit one of my best friend with two girls about the age of mine. Lizzy immediately starated to play with her little one

and pet the dog they are sitting for now. sooooo cute.

on Saturday I did my long run, a not great one as I developed some coughing after being fatigue for few days. I was worried that it would get worse and then what?! how am I supposed to take care of Lizzy, work, and run while sick?! Somehow despite my semi-sick body, I finished 10 miles with enjoyment. Then I lied down for a while until noon when we left to visit another old friend. She also has a daughter and 6 cats, so Lizzy was entertained while my friend and I chatted nonstop for 3 hours

I slept very well and woke up feeling half recovered, although still coughing from time to time. I enjoyed my run while spotting some wild animals

It was raining a lot so we canceled our zoo outing and stayed home until 3pm, enjoyed a nice lunch and I took a nap too

we went to Georgetown to find tshirt for Lizzy and we found two

and tried the freshed made ice cream cookie sandwich, sooooooo decadent and sweet

on Monday we went to office for lunch followed by Brazil’s game against Japan. We were with our brasilian colleagues and so glad they made the magic at the last minute, to avoid another 30 min of tension.

since Lizzy doesn’t have camp this week, I ordered few hands on games and this one is a catcher. She played with it for hours.

Despite our simple days and minimal events, I go to bed exhausted by the end of the day which is 9pm the latest. Maybe because I’m still a bit sick (viral respiratory infection). Also I am concerned my lack of strength training since I left Brasilia, and more running due to beautiful path. I need to get back to some basic body weight exercise to avoid getting injured.
Heat wave seems to be coming to DC. Our walk to office/camp days may be over. Oh well… bus ride will be!
