We celebrated 11 years anniversary on Tuesday which I took a day off from work. There was an important event that I should have chaired but I told the team I had important plans so they would have to go without me. I didn’t give reasons, I didn’t apologize, because of 365 days of the year only that day I dedicate to my dear husband.
We went to get his Argentina visa before lunch and the 75 year old guy asked me what’s his job as I left that part blank. I said: my husband! He smiled and said: that’s a good job. Lucky him. I married 4 times and didn’t find such a job.
I told the exchange to husband as it was in Spanish. My husband laughed. He’s my rock, my safe heaven, my support system, which I believe is a very important job, so does he. This is the 4th country we celebrated this important day. And I can only imagine celebrating more of cheerful and adventurous years with him.
As every marriage, we argue, most of the time petty things. But our basis is strong, our values aligned, and he’s honestly very low maintenance, like a cat. He gives me the space I need to pursue my hobbies, to be with the mom I want to be, and to do a good job at work. He almost never complains how little time we get to spend together alone. He never complains he’s not being a priority, yet, he’s always there when I need him and find time for him.
We spent our lunch foreseeing future plans, which countries can we try next, how can we better our girls, and some logistics of upcoming weeks as I’ll be traveling more for work.
We also enjoyed the meal and the ambiance of the place, by the lake.

I got the octopus, I also do when I see it on the menu. Husband got seafood paella that was also very good. And two seafood appetizers.
For dessert we picked pistachio plan.

Because we don’t do dates often, it makes this ocasión extra special.
And the night before my flight to NYC, Sofia painted my nails to the color of our outfit.

Just landed in Miami. Watched all the 8 episodes of intimacy, a good show to educate myself what’s intimacy violation.
Now onward to NYC! I can’t believe I made it so far, after not done a marathon for 2.5 years. It feels surreal that I got to this point injury free! Now to the big party to celebrate the training!
Happy Anni!!! Also happy soon-t0-be marathon!!! Wishing you the best!

Happy anniversary! What cute pics. Excited for you and the marathon!! (Question- what language do you and your husband speak to each other? Chinese? Sorry if that’s a dumb question! 😅 I’m just so used to you always writing in English, obviously, that I never really thought about it. And is it English with the girls?)

Good question. We speak in Shanghai dialect mostly. I speak Spanish/castellano to the girls. They speak English with each other. 🙂
