We are finding our flow with this quarantine as it will stay for a while. I started to enjoy from time to time our core family being together all the time. Me working like crazy, husband being helpful with house tasks (do meal preps so I only need to cook, clean the floor 1000 times a day, take girls down while I prep dinner), and super helpful kids with chores. Our current routine:
I wake up around 4:30-5am. 5:30-6:30 I jog around the pool. Then the girls come to play with their scooters while I either walk or catch up with a friend over the phone. Most of the days, the girls’ friends also come so they start their day really nicely meeting their friends, being outdoor, fresh air.
8-9am: breakfast for everyone.
9-12pm: I work, Sofia does her homework (piano, mandarin, math, reading) by herself besides me. Lizzy usually goes to her friends’ for play.
12-1pm: lunch break. I usually make something quick like dumplings, leftovers, pasta, soup, salad.
1:30-3:30pm: everyone takes a nap except me. I enjoy the quiet house to do some reading for work.
3:30-5:30pm: girls play at the house by themselves. Sometimes they do cosmic yoga or kids workout.
5:30pm-6:15pm: girls go down by the pool with hubby while I prepare dinner.
6:15-7pm: dinner
7-8pm: girls watch mystery science while I chill out, then they prep for bed, read for a while and lights out.
8-9pm: I either read a book or watch series. Most of the days I am just so tired and would be in bed by 8:30pm and asleep before 9.
I am grateful to start the day with this view, my lovely running path
I am grateful they have each other during this difficult time. I love how cheerful they are despite being lockdown.
I am grateful we have more thane enough food. I order so many vegetables that sometimes I have to give away to neighbours. I made this pumpkin oatmeal pancakes with leftover soy milk pulp
started to make bread again
girls love this honey sweet potato rolls for their breakfast with more honey and almond butter
we will be in lockdown for another 3 weeks. It sounds like daunting than 3 weeks ago. I know we can survive and thrive this 🙂
