3 things I was grateful yesterday:
- Husband doing the cleaning without nudging. When we went back to helper-less situation, I told him we should discuss the chores and divide and conquer. He ended up having more than I do as I am busier at work. For a second day, he clean the floor, do the dishes and kitchen counter, and prepped lunch without me asking! ๐
- Having the girls doing workbook in the morning when I work. We have entered this routine that both girls “study” in the morning. Even the little one started to do workbook (very simple ones). And it feels like we are all working together.
- My parents in law. I am not super close to them but I know they are fantastic in-laws, which means they don’t interfere with our lives and be supportive and helpful when I need them to be. This is not the norm in Chinese culture, so I’m super grateful.
I can’t believe 2020 is half gone and we didn’t go anywhere!!! We miss traveling so much. Oh well… let’s try make a even better second 1/2 of 2020, traveling or not.
After an hour swim with the girls, I had early meetings until 10:30am, so breakfast came a bit late. I made a banana zucchini oatmeal mixed with flaxmeal and protein powder, topped with frozen strawberries and almond butter.
Lunch for the family as I wasn’t hungry yet, and had leftovers before my 2pm meeting.
The feature picture brings me so many memories: our house in VA, babyhood, a simple life then. Not that our life is more complicated now but it just got busier. I now realise that the first year of my girls were all quiet and slow because their feeding and sleep schedules didn’t allow us to go out much and pretty much stay at home, and the 24 hrs went around their clock. Oh… I miss babyhood.
What a sweet picture! Glad your husband can help out too around the house. It definitely is all so much easier when couples are on the same page with that kind of thing. That oatmeal looks good too! I love putting nut butters in my oatmeal. My favorite is with flax seed and blueberries and peanut butter. I actually like to stir in bits of cooked chicken, too, which is maybe really weird but tastes really good to me! Plus it gets lots of protein in. I don’t think you eat meat, though. ๐
