Day 133: amazing family day

We had an absolutely AMAZING family day!!! Since we moved to Manila, given the local culture of going to church on Sunday, our helpers don’t work on Sunday and i had to explain the girls that Sunday is family day. And since then, I’ve tried to honour the name by doing things together as a family. We don’t always accomplish it, when i’m too burned out from work, I’d organise a playdate. But yesterday was a day that we did things together from start to end.

I first did 6 miles run alone while the girls were still sleeping. I didn’t do my usual route but had the objective of finding a good cycling path for Sofia. Then I went home to get her. We did a bit more than 3 miles cycling while I chased behind her (good tempo run!).

next I took Lizzy for scootering in the cycling path as well. She was so excited to be doing the same path as Sofia. Another 3 miles or so.

I spent 2.5 hrs outdoor and was famished after my cold bath, so a big bowl of oatmeal with blueberries, roasted pumpkin (so sweet!) and almond butter was much needed.

After Sofia finished her home work, we started a new puzzle (1000 pieces together). It was my first time doing puzzle so I was super slow but found it interesting as I developed my own ‘strategy’. Then we had lunch

While the girls were in their room for quiet time, hubby and I watched a new show. When the girls got up, we started our Europe trip scratch book. I put the pictures, Sofia put the decorations, and Lizzy was the colour picker! Meanwhile, hubby came to help me with the puzzle. so hard!!!

At 6pm, the girls got cozy for the movie night, I prepared them snacks and fruits and they enjoyed 1.5 hours of TV time. Meanwhile, hubby browsed antiques and i browsed social media and almost fell asleep on the couch. πŸ˜€

Gratitude: I am glad that I found new way to connect with family members. Exercising, reading, and crafting are our ways to connect as a family πŸ™‚

  1. Lizzy’s smile in that pic is the cutest thing ever! That sounds like an awesome day. That is a LOT of running for you though! Wow! Impressive. It all just sounds great- the puzzles, quiet time, relaxing…so nice! You should take some close up pics of a few pages of your Europe scrapbook- I’d love to see them! I’m so happy for you that you had such a great day. πŸ™‚
