the last couple of days was like a mini rollercoaster. As mentioned, I was tasked to do something important for next Tuesday. All prepared and now the meeting moved to end of July instead. This means I need to postpone my vacation days or have it broken into two separate weeks. Bummer indeed but understandable. To cheer me up, I booked a week of beach vacation during the week of July 19, thinking that I could take that week of and resume to preparing for the July 30 the following week. I filed my leave. Then Saturday I got an email from my big boss suggesting how we should prepare for it, which means I am expected to work all the way leading to the meeting, or at least cannot take off from work completely. Bummer again! I debated for half day what to do with my planned beach trip. Before that, I also had end of the year performance. It was such a ego booster conversation. All the hard work was properly rewarded and appreciated. This means that if I have to cancel my planned vacation, it’s not too big of a deal. So… I canceled the trip to Cebu, rebooked it for end of October (school break), and will do a short beach trip near Manila (Puerto Galera) after my big meeting.
The two months we spent in DC contributed to my relax attitude to this kind of twist and turns, as I feel relaxed and happy overall. I will find ways to relax while still working. An afternoon of reading is relaxing enough to recharge me.
The girls have been doing some sort of morning exercise too. Either kids workout or yoga.

I started walking again, my ankle is okay to walk, not to run yet. I like early morning walk when the street is still quiet. Also enjoying Lazy Genius episodes about summer

Lizzy is such a silly and creative lady.. always making fun of herself and proud of it
Let me introduce you Queen Elizabeth (per the queen herself)

We are family over jet lag, the whole family. Hubby and I woke up at 5am, girls 6 and 6:30am. It took us 12 days with some days losing hope that this stage would be ever over. So glad to feel normal again.
Big development in Manila this week is that kids 5 years old and above are allowed to go out, to playground, outdoor dining, no contact sports, etc. So excited!!! We will resume soccer and golf! π
I’m glad you have been able to roll with the punches. I think that’s definitely a learned skill…and probably something that is a bit dependent on your personality, too. Some people are more easily able to adapt than others. you seem pretty adaptable though! Hope you can get back to running soon. I love very early morning walks too, but haven’t been going outside then. I should do this now, because during the winter months here it’s too dark outside to do it. thanks for the reminder π
