3 chill day in Lima

Once we reunited with the family on Thursday, we had lunch near train station. Lizzy and I explored a bit before it was time to catch the 2 hours train ride

the train is super nice, touristic and luxurious. The 2 hours went back quickly. After that, we rode the bus for 2 hours until we picked up our stored luggage and went to airport to catch out 11pm flight. We arrived at our Lima Airbnb near 1am. Exhausted and super happy to take a shower.

Friday, we woke up after a glorious night of sleep in a soft and cozy bed. We went out for breakfast, Sofia’s French toast looked so fancy.

then we all went for manicure, because why not? I never find time to do self care at home so while on vacation, it’s perfect activity to do

after some rest, girls and I went to Lacormar shopping mall to get few things for Sofia’s upcoming MUN trip. We also found a dim sum place and lizzy was so happy.

Saturday, we went to the same place for breakfast and then we went to the old town area. There was a religious event so it was packed. We walked a bit and then headed to Chinatown.

It was the perfect street and wet market that husband loves to explore, yet, the girls didn’t appreciate the smell.

daddy tried the street ceviche (10 soles, 3 dollars) and was surprised by its high quality.

we got back around 3pm and I went for a 90 min massage. The place called Alma, surprisingly good. I absolutely enjoyed the session, although my legs were still quite sore from the hike.

Sunday, after slow morning we went to Barranca area, the local bohemian artistic neighborhood. Made a wish while walking the breath bridge. Then we went from Barranca to larcomar in mirasoles

we chosen the coastal road and found the sea side pretty although no real beach.

lunch highlight was the signature chicken dish

we ended up taking a romantic picture at the Love park to end our exploration of Lima

It was just what I needed to recover from the hike. The weather was cold and humid, not my favorite, combined with the fatigue, I felt quite grateful for the downtime before heading home.

We were all glad we explored Lima, the place we almost ended up living as there was a position that came 2 months after Brasilia, which if the order was reversed I would have applied it. It’s a nice city to live, although a bit crowded, and the food scene is great, people super super nice.

We left for the airport 9pm to catch our 12:30am flight.

We landed Brasilia this morning at 7am. Lizzy went to school. Sofia is unpacking and packing for leaving tonight to Panama. I am catching up with household to-dos after being away for so long. One week of rest a recover at home and I’ll have two more weeks of travel for work and swim meet up.
