Hectic week

I’m on my way back to Brasilia, transiting in Panama. I’m so glad this hectic week of marathon meetings until 8 or 9pm has ended. I’m beyond exhausted due to late night, spinning minds after a day of meeting new/old people, hearing news/rumora/gossips. I packed a lot in 4 days instead of staying for longer because I need to arrive before lizzy’s birthday.

I could feel my body feeling the drag on the last day of morning runs. My pace is slow, the breathing feels hard, my legs are tired. Yet I need the run to get through the long day, with the help of coffee later in the day.

The biggest accomplishments this week:

  • I found the summer sublet for me and Lizzy. It’s perfect!!! Small, cozy, French decor, in a lovely neighborhood, easy access to my favorite running route. I met the person, saw her place, and agreed on rent and move in date. I’m so excited.
  • Conducted 3 meetings in Portuguese! The best part?! I didn’t have to think what to say nor how to say it. It came out more naturally and confidently.
  • I met with my favorite colleague friend. He came from Middle East so I was glad to see him in person, healthy, safe, smiling. We also met another colleague from Jakarta together. It’s the best part of work trip to dc, re meeting old friends.
  • Got all the gifts for Lizzy and some for Sofia. And tons of new Trader Joe’s snacks to try.

Dc is lovely this time of the year. The tulips!

I also tried Georgia food for one of the work dinners. So different

Lots of boxes from my Airbnb

An unexpected comment from a colleague (female): She saw me taking off my jacket and was surprised and told me you are so strong and fit, congratulations!

I guess my twice a week Slimfit is paying off?!

Can’t wait to get home and have a chill weekend.

  1. That sounds like an exhausting week! Good call keeping the runs in though, even when they felt heavy. Also, three meetings in Portuguese without overthinking it is a big step!
Is that summer sublet in a different country? Will Sofia be busy with summer school during that time?
